Picture Kim Kardashian in Dresses That Look Like Gymnastics Costumes - It's Happening - 2 minutes read
Maisie Wilen Fashion Brand
You're probably not familiar with fashion label Maisie Wilen yet, but in about a week, you'll know it like the back of your hand. Kanye West invested in Parsons womenswear alum Maisie Schloss, who got her start working at Yeezy under Kanye's guidance. Now, she's designing gymnastics-costume-inspired minidresses in groovy prints for the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Rowan Blanchard, and Camila Mendes, who wore her playful pink number to POPSUGAR Play/Ground.
Celebrity stylist Chris Horan, who works with Camila, Rowan, and Barbie Ferreira, to name a few, seems to have gotten his hands on these pieces early for his clients. But Kim reportedly received a "box" of items, and she's already debuted two of them. "Maisie has always had a strong perspective and we're truly pleased with her first collection," Kanye commented to Vogue.
"I was looking at gymnastics costumes, and the cutouts that they have, which look so gestural on the body. And I was also looking at pictures of robotics. I think gymnastics and robots mirror my work well, in that I am systematic and regimented in how I operate, but the outcome looks organic," Maisie said of her own line.
We're pretty stoked to watch how these eclectic, flashy little numbers continue to pop up on Hollywood's elite, and we can't wait for someone like Celine Dion, who has been experimenting with trendy, young designers, to try one out. Read on for a brief introduction to the new name you need to know if you like to keep up with the fashion world.
