The Chicago actor, who is well known for his activism has been a longtime supporter of the organization which raises money to provide meals for those in need.

Tuesday was the first time since the pandemic that the charitable organization has been able to hold an in-person gathering.

The 2019 event raised more than four million dollars, and organizers were hoping to top that, as the need in New York has increased 36 percent since the pandemic.

The Arbitrage actor and his wife have been married since 2018 and are the parents to two young boys. Alexander was born in 2018 and his younger brother arrived in 2020.

The busy philanthropist has an older son, Homer, 22, from his marriage to actress Carey Lowell. Alejandra has a son, Albert, 9, from her first marriage.
