The ticket draw closes at midnight on September 26, so don’t miss your chance to sign up here. Winners will be selected at random with the lucky ones (and up to one guest) invited to purchase a day ticket for £10 each, with 100 per cent of the proceeds donated to Centrepoint. In the meantime, we’ve rounded up seven of the hottest fashion events not to miss at Dazed Live below.
Want to get a behind-the-scenes look at Dazed’s 30th anniversary issue? Or, get an insider’s opinion on that Rihanna spliff picture? Dazed editor-in-chief Ibrahim Kamara and art director Gareth Wrighton are putting on a masterclass where they will reveal all. The pair will also perform a live styling workshop while taking questions from the audience, and talking you through the art of storytelling through fashion. Michaela Stark is the Beyoncé approved Aussie designer whose subversive lingerie contorts the silhouette into romantic and unrecognisable forms. For Dazed Live, the artist and couturier is putting on an equally subversive life drawing class, featuring a Rococo performance and appearances by artist Robert George Sanders, Dodo Potato, Jade O’Belle, and Kevin Cordo.
If you haven’t heard of Emily Frances Barrett, you will probably recognise her intricate jewelry. The multidisciplinary artist works with a wide spectrum of materials, from found objects such as pressed flowers and cigarette butts to ancient objects collected on the shores of the River Thames. Here, she will teach attendees how to make their own badges using some of her tried-and-tested techniques. CSM grad and Fashion East’s Jawara Alleyne’s menswear challenges traditional masculine forms, instead opting for loose, organic shapes usually reserved for womenswear. For Dazed Live, the bright young designer will be holding a workshop where attendees will have the chance at customising their very own Dazed merch, while learning more about his signature process of designing through subtraction. Not to be missed! Join Irish fashion designer Simone Rocha as she shares her pro tips, from setting up her own label, to launching her sell-out collection with H&M. Hear what it takes to break into the industry.
DIGITAL GARMENT MAKING WORKSHOP WITH THE INSTITUTE OF DIGITAL FASHION Slip into your digital skins with trailblazers Leanne Elliott Young and Catty Taylor’s workshop on how to create your very own digital garments. The pair are experts at merging the IRL and URL landscapes of fashion, so this is a perfect opportunity to pick their brains on all things virtual. Bringing life to vintage t-shirts, this is your chance to make your very own Conner Ives x Dazed t-shirt using stencils and spraypaint. CSM graduate and LVMH finalist Ives is known for his portrayal of nostalgia in a literal sense through the use of vintage garments for raw material elevating the identy of re-generated items.
