The M55 RGB Pro optical gaming mouse is a new entry-level gaming mouse from Corsair. It includes standard features like RGB illumination and software customization via the Corsair iCUE software. It also has the PMW3327 optical sensor with a DPI range of 200 – 12,400.  With its ambidextrous body design, this makes the M55 RGB Pro suitable for both left and right-handed users. Because of its long design and tall palm rest, the mouse can accommodate palm, claw, and fingertip gripping styles. This makes the M55 RGB Pro very versatile. Priced at $39.99 shipped on Amazon, we will go over the features and specifications of this mouse to see what it offers against the competition.

The box for the M55 RGB Pro looks very simple with the standard Corsair yellow and black color theme. On the front, there is an illustration of the product with the product features and specifications listed around the box.

As for accessories, we get a quick start guide, a warranty guide booklet, and the mouse itself. Like many modern gaming peripherals, the cable on the M55 RGB Pro has a Velcro strap for cable management.

The body of the M55 RGB Pro is mainly made of plastic and rubberized material for the side grips. There are also a few glossy areas towards the bottom of the moues and between the right and left mouse buttons. At just 86 grams, the M55 RGB Pro feels very light and easy to move around.

Because this is an ambidextrous mouse, both the left and right side of the mouse are identical. At the front, we see just the normal left and right mouse buttons, which have Omron switches rated at 50 million clicks. There is also the rubberized scroll wheel with the cable connecting directly to the center of the mouse.

The rear of the mouse has a smooth plastic finish for the palm. Towards the bottom, there is a glossy trim that wraps around the rear and the two sides of the mouse. There is also the company logo, which is RGB capable.

On the left side, there are two buttons for forward and backward functions. We can also see the rubberized side grip with a small curve towards the center of the mouse. This, along with the tall palm rest, improves the grip of the mouse overall.

The opposite side of the mouse has the same layout with the same two buttons and rubberized side grip.

The top of the M55 RGB Pro looks very basic without any aggressive designs. There is a large DPI cycle button with a DPI indicator LED to the right of it. We can also see the top shell is one piece as it spans from the rear of the mouse to the two main buttons.

On the bottom, there are three glide pads to provide smooth and even tracking. The PMW3327 optical sensor is placed directly in the center of the mouse. This ensures the best possible tracking performance for both left and right-handed users.

Let’s take a look at the Corsair iCUE software in the next section.
