An interview conducted by The World of Reel with an undisclosed producer on Macon Blair’s long-awaited Toxic Avenger remake suggests the completed film is “unreleasable” and far “too out there” for any sort of commercial interest.
If it had great reviews then maybe the forecast would be a little rosier, but there isn’t much potential. It’s too niche. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see it on Tubi a few years from now.
According to the article, co-producer Adam Masnyk also recently stated the film has been deemed “not safe enough to market” in a recent Twitter post.
