Now that we’re all staying home, it’s a great time to save money for future travels. Canceled flights and trips have given some of us extra funds to tuck away, but if you’re still spending money on travel subscriptions, now’s the time to save even more by canceling or pausing whatever you’re not using.

You only need domestic cell phone coverage

You may have opted to pay for an international phone plan make use of data, talk and text messaging on your travels, but are now unable to use those services—unless you’re living outside of the United States.

Thankfully, there’s not too much you need to do if you purchased daily international service with AT&T. In fact, they state specifically that their customers are only charged for the days they actually use. No need to cancel.

The two international plans T-Mobile offers are Magenta and MagentaPlus. These services can be canceled at any time by contacting T-Mobile’s customer service, which also offers an on-site chat service. A word of warning, however: If you’re still paying off your phone and you want to cancel your international plan, you’ll have to pay off the remainder of the balance on the device right away.

Verizon

Verizon’s TravelPass plan gives you the option to talk, text and use internet data in over 185 countries outside of the United States. Similar to AT&T, there’s no need to officially cancel because you’re only charged for the days you use it while traveling.

See you later, in-flight internet

Gogo Inflight Internet is the service United, Delta, Alaska Airlines, and Air Canada use to connect your devices while in the air—which is definitely convenient, but not exactly cheap. If you’re a seasoned traveler who needs the service more often, you may have paid for a monthly subscription. These monthly plans include:

In order to avoid charges for the next month, remember to cancel at least two days before the monthly renewal date. If you don’t cancel two days before the renewal date, you can still request a refund through customer service.

CLEAR this travel app

CLEAR is a great option for frequent air travelers; with it, you don’t have to worry about standing in long security lines because its expedited security service allows you to breeze through. But right now, it wouldn’t hurt to cancel, especially considering how easy it is to re-enroll: You can do so at any CLEAR kiosk, where you will verify your identity with your valid photo ID, answer a few questions and attach your fingerprint and iris pictures to your account.
