Apple News app adds a dedicated special coverage section for the coronavirus - 1 minute read
The coronavirus and COVID-19, the disease it causes, continues to spread across the globe. To help with coverage, Apple has launched a special coverage section within the Apple News app.
The primary caveat here is that the new special coverage for the coronavirus, despite its global impact, is only available to readers in the United States. However, it is at least available across iPhone, iPad, and the Mac via the Today tab within the app.
With that out of the way, this special coverage is similar to what we saw Apple launch with its coverage of politics and the 2020 presidential election. It features curated content from a variety of news sources, including The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, and others. The coverage includes breaking news stories, in depth articles, how-tos on how to stay safe, how to wash your hands, and much more.
There are also links to additional information regarding the coronavirus and its global spread from sources like Johns Hopkins University.
The dedicated section is available in the Apple News app right now (again, only for folks in the United States).
