Macs make people happier than any PC - 2 minutes read

When it comers to satisfaction, Apple sits at the top of the heap among computer makers. It beats HP, Samsung and others, according to the latest survey from the American Customer Satisfaction Index.
And satisfaction with tablets improved to the point they’re essentially on par with desktops and laptops.
Mac and iPad satisfaction is up!
Most Americans use Windows, and one might think that’s because people truly love the computers that run it while they’re iffy about Mac. Nope. Apple keeps beating its rivals in the annual ACSI survey. The Mac-maker improved its score in the 2024 satisfaction rankings to 85.
And this isn’t some quirk. Year after year, people keep telling the ACSI survey how happy they are with their iMac, MacBook, iPad, etc .
While Apple holds the lead in 2024, the margin is narrow — HP earned an 84 score on the survey. Samsung tied with Apple in first place in 2023, but dropped to third place with an 82 ACSI score. Dell and Lenovo tied at 80, while Microsoft is at 79.
And people feel happier with their PCs in general, whether they run macOS or Windows. “After a second year of improved satisfaction, the ACSI score for personal computers reaches its highest level to date,” noted the company that takes the survey. The total score is 81.
Tablet satisfaction surges
In the 2023 ACSI survey, Americans loved their desktops more than laptops and certainly more than tablets. The situation changed this year.
Desktop satisfaction dropped while satisfaction with tablets rose 5 points. That puts all three categories neck and neck, with desktop earning a score of 82 and the others a single point behind.
ACSI notes that 52% of its survey respondents use a laptop, 27% use a tablet and 21% use a desktop.
