Time to Come Up with 'New Name' for 'Socialist'

Not just a CNN co-host anymore! Alisyn Camerota is now also serving as a volunteer Democrat strategist. On this morning's New Day, Camerota suggested that in order to avoid being branded by Republicans, Dems should "come up with some sort of new name" for "socialist."

Camerota made her remark in the context of claiming that House GOP minority leader Kevin McCarthy and Sen. Lindsey Graham are trying to redirect the conversation away from President Trump's recent comments about The Squad, and toward the fact that The Squad members are socialists.

Come up with a new name for socialism? Well, why not? Just add one more lie to the list. A liberal is now a “progressive”. Conservative speech is now “hate speech”. Institutional racism is now “affirmative action”.

Then they tried “socialist democracy”. Reminds me of “negro”, then “colored”, then “black”, then “afro-american”, then “African-American” and, now, “person of color”. None of those are derogatory terms. In fact, read some Mark Twain. Even the “N-Word) was not necessarily a derogatory word. All those are just labels for the same thing. At the end of the day, Negro still works. So you guys call it whatever you want. It is still destroying personal freedom. And a rose, by any name...
