A massive explosion in south Philadelphia ripped through the East Coast's largest gasoline refinery complex Friday morning.

A huge fire erupted after three explosions in a vat of propane, the company said. Earlier, the fire department said the blast occurred in a butane vat. The blaze turned the predawn sky orange and was felt miles away, according to reports.

No injuries were reported but one employee complained of chest pain and was examined at the scene at the Philadelphia Energy Solutions refinery.
