When I put on a mostly clean pair of pants (and yes, sweatpants count as pants), and put on a shirt that requires actual buttons to fasten up, I expect people I come across to curtsy in front of me while saying, “Good day, me lord.” Like, I’m that fucking fancy. But my kind fancy is absolutely homely raggedy trash (“You think?” – anyone with eyes) compared to the Jane Austen-ness that Zack MacLeod Pinsent decorates the streets with all day, every day.

In a little profile for the BBC, Dandy Zack says that he began making historical clothes when he was a kid, and when he was 14, he pretty much said pip pip to modern clothes when he burned his last pair of jeans. Ever since then, Dandy Zack keeps his closet filled with mostly Regency gentlemen ensembles, and dresses like his ass fell out of a Merchant Ivory movie day in and day out. Zack tells the BBC that he doesn’t do it for attention, which, dandy please, yes you do, but Dickensian the world up, I say.

Zack’s love of dandy clothes has led to him starting his own business where he makes Bespoke historical clothing for anyone who, I guess, needs some shit to wear to an Another Period-themed party. Zack’s business recently took him to NYC where nobody really batted a damn eye to his butch Austin Scarlett drag.
