Trump Supporters Wave Huge 2020 Flags and Signs at NYC Parade for US Women's World Cup Champions
Several supporters of President Trump waved large Trump 2020 flags and held signs criticizing Megan Rapinoe along the parade route for the U.S. women’s soccer team World Cup champions in New York City Wednesday morning.
The politically polarizing women’s soccer team has said they would not accept a White House invitation from Trump but would accept invitations from Democrats to visit Congress. Rapinoe infamously said she would not visit “the f***ing White House.” The team was feted in New York by Democrats Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo.
de Blasio and Cuomo — two men— were the only elected officials who were allowed to be part of the ticker-tape parade for the women’s soccer champs, source says. This wasn’t the case during the 2015 parade.
Photos and videos posted online show the flags and signs within eyesight of the team members standing on passing parade floats.
Narrating the political match :…and here we have some members of the US women's team forced to look away when they spot #TeamTrump flying a Trump's 2020 flag at their own parade… 😀 Lol #USWNTParade pic.twitter.com/mff2FHPhKh
Bonus: Rapinoe celebrating herself at the parade.
