TL;DR: As of July 28, you can pick up the ingenious Hide-a-Mask for $26.
Masks (and hand sanitizer) have been a part of our leaving-the-house checklist for wallet, keys, and phone since March. What's next? A baseball bat for a potential zombie apocalypse, probably.
But just like those days that you get to the subway only to realize that your metro card is in yesterdays's coat pocket, we've all sat in the car looking longingly out the window because we drove all the way to the grocery store just to arrive unprotected.
Instead of setting a daily reminder or putting a Bluetooth tracker on your mask, Hide-a-Mask attaches a mask to an accessory many of us wear every day in summer, anyway: a baseball hat.

Hidden magnets hold the mask inconspicuously into the brim of the hat. When you need it, pull it down — when you don't, fold it back up. It's a more sustainable option than keeping a bag of disposable masks in your car, and it's more badass than the scrubs aesthetic, too.
CDC director Robert Redfield predicts that the United States could get the spread of the novel coronavirus under control within a matter of four to eight weeks if everyone wore face coverings. Timothy Hickman, founder of Hide-A-Mask and official point person for the Kickstarter campaign, hopes that Hide-a-Mask can encourage hesitant folks to be more comfortable with wearing a mask by mitigating ear pressure from elastic bands as well as preventing fabric from laying flat on the face. The mask seals around your cheeks, nose, and chin, but uses a genius pocket to allow more free breathing. For utmost sanitation, the mask portion can easily unclipped to be washed — a new laundry step that we should all be taking regularly.

Hide-a-Mask hats come in nine solid colors (four of which are visors) with premium options also available sporting various state flags. Businesses also have the option to buy in bulk and customize lettering. (The mask itself is always black.)
The campaign has already met its monetary goal, but you can still back the project to lock in your Hide-a-Mask when it ships in September 2020. One hat or visor goes for $26 (14% off the debut retail price of $29.95) and a premium hat goes for $29 (17% off the debut retail price of $35).
