Your Ask the Experts question was answered by Zhou Xin. He is a Coach at the ICC Table Tennis in Milpitas, California. Coach Zhou’s response is as follows:
Hi Javan,
I’m sure Timo Boll TJ is a great blade for top juniors. However, I don’t have first-hand experience with it. Since you said you have small hands, the 95x21mm handle size may be perfect for you.
I recommended Viscaria blade to many of my junior students. The reaction is quicker with less vibration. However, the handle size is 100x25mm and a bit heavier. In general, it’s a very balanced blade. I have been using it myself for many years.
Anyway, choosing equipment has never been easy. I’d suggest you try them first if possible before you make your decision. Hope this helps.
Happy ping ponging!
Zhou Xin
