WTT Champions Macao: Alexis Lebrun Shock Upset - 1 minute read

Early Friday action just started in the Round of 16 at the WTT Champions Macao event. and the first match of the day has resulted in the biggest upset of the tournament. World No. 30, Alexis Lebrun has defeated World No. 3 Liang Jingkun 3-2. Lebrun, who found himself down 1-2, fought from behind in each of the final games to claim the 3-2 win (9, -4, -9, 10, 10). Lebrun is now through to the Final 8 where he will face the winner of Lin Yun-Ju and Tomislav Pucar.
In other early Friday matches, Mima Ito had defeated Miyuu Kihara to advance to the Final 8 – she will likely face Chen Meng tomorrow. And Kasumi Ishikawa has topped Dina Meshref to punch her ticket to the Final 8.
