Pan America Cup- Top Seeds Advance

Guaynabo, Puerto Rico is host this week to the Universal 2020 ITTF Pan America Cup.  Hugo Calderano and Kanak Jha, the top two seeds, each continued their drive to the Final.  Calderano is on to the Semifinals and he will face the winner of Brian Afanador and Marcelo Aguirre.  In the bottom half of the draw, Kanak Jha and Gustavo Tsuboi will play in the Semifinal on Sunday morning.

In earlier rounds, USA’s Nikhil Kumar fell to Horacio Cifuentes in the Round of 16, and Canada’s Jeremy Hazin and Marko Medjugorac each fell in the Round of 16 as well.

In Women’s Singles, both of TeamUSA’s entrants are through to the Semifinals.  Jennifer Wu will face the winner of Adriana Diaz and Yadira Silva in the top half of the draw and Lily Zhang will face Mo Zhang.  Thus far, all of the top four seeds remain with the most likely result a showdown tomorrow between Puerto Rico, Canada, and two players from USA.
