Why are fruits and vegetables important to our health?
Fruits and vegetables are a good source of vitamins and minerals. They keep us healthy. Fruits and vegetables provide energy. They provide us with plenty of fiber which is good for digestion. Digestion is very important for overall health as it helps other organs of the body.
Fruits have potassium which assists in the body maintaining good blood pressure.
Fruits and Vegetables have vegetables have fiber, as I mentioned earlier in the article. Also, fruits and vegetables are low in calories and there is increasing evidence that they help in combating cancer and other deadly diseases.
They are also low in sodium and cholesterol.
Fruits and Vegetals are flavorful and versatile, easy to cook, and make juices. I really wonder, why with all these attributes, people do not make more use of them. They are eaten as side dishes when in fact, we can make them a primary and integral part of our diets.
There is a worldwide weight epidemic that appears to get worse as time goes by.
The weight loss industry is a billion-dollar business.
It has been shown that vegetarians as a general rule are thinner and have less body fat and lower Body Mass Index (less than 25) It is because of the fact that they eat more fruits and vegetables.
Shouldn’t we all emulate this by partaking of more fruits and vegetables?
